A cracking day of birding despite the dodgy weather! The first birds we clapped our eyes on were a pair of STONE CURLEW quickly followed by two male GOSHAWKS! Other notable species were WOODLARK, RED KITE, SPARROWHAWK and COMMON BUZZARD.

We enjoyed a walk around Lynford Arboretum where we had good views of singing male FIRECREST as well as MEALY REDPOLL, SISKIN, TREECREEPER, COMMON CROSSBILL and a stunning male TWO-BARRED CROSSBILL. At nearby Santon Downham we watched a pair of GREY WAGTAILS and a KINGFISHER.

The day concluded at Lackford Lakes where good numbers of SAND MARTIN and a couple of SWALLOWS fed over the lakes which rounded off a good day.
