WHERE THE PAGER TAKES US – NEW YEAR SPECIAL #2
Sunday 5th January 2020

It was back to Suffolk for the second day trip of the weekend. We kicked off in Ipswich with amazing views of a TAWNY OWL plus 18 MANDARIN DUCK (and a dodgy HOODED MERGANSER) before an unsuccessful attempt at the Rough-legged Buzzard.

The SIBERIAN STONECHAT gave great views as it flitted around flooded fields and nearby there was an increase in GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE with around 60+ counted. After lunch we popped down the road to see 3 WHOOPER SWANS before heading north via a field that contained 9 TUNDRA SWANS.

The day concluded at Kessingland Beach with fab views of the SHORELARK plus a staggering 31 MEDITERRANEAN GULLS.
